Zac is a founding partner and leads Moretz & Skufca’s Real Estate, Community Associations and Business Law practice group. He is a Certified Specialist in Commercial Real Estate Law by the North Carolina State Bar, one of only twelve in the Charlotte area, and is also a licensed real estate broker in both North and South Carolina. He is a member of the Community Associations Institute and of the Legislative Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Real Property section. He has substantial experience in commercial and residential real estate development, including setting up residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments of all kinds; in representing residential and commercial homeowners associations throughout the state; in advising businesses of all kinds and sizes on general corporate, contractual and other business-related issues; and in NASCAR and motorsports law.

Zac is former general counsel to a large local developer and has represented the developers or the owners associations of many of the Charlotte area’s highest-profile real estate developments, including Sun City Carolina Lakes, The Palisades, Moss Creek, Afton Village, Harrisburg Town Center, Providence Downs South, Kellswater Bridge, Smithstone, The Williamson Building, Latta Pavilion Condominiums, The Enclave at Timber Ridge, Camden Cotton Mills, Myrtle Beach Corporate Center, Rocky River Crossing, Northampton Place, Welden Village, and Park South Station among many others. Zac and his team represent over 200 homeowners’ and condominium associations throughout the Charlotte metro area and throughout North and South Carolina.

A former SCCA national championship road racer, Zac also represents NASCAR drivers, teams and sponsors with help in putting together racing deals and working out racing-related business issues of all kinds. Zac races karts occasionally with clients Endurance Karting and The Pit.

Prior to law school, Zac was a product manager in the consumer software industry in Atlanta, and most notably was in charge of product development and marketing for UnInstaller, the world’s best-selling business software title at the time. Prior to that he served in product management and marketing roles for various other networking and interactive educational consumer software products.

In his free time, Zac serves on the board of directors of Concord Rotary Club and the Business Development committee of Concord Downtown Development Corp. He enjoys auto racing, lacrosse, road biking, water skiing, historic preservation and downtown redevelopment, and coaching his children in sports. Zac is a native of Sanford, North Carolina and is a graduate of Ravenscroft High School in Raleigh, Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, and Wake Forest University School of Law.
