Chris has been practicing law for twenty years and is admitted to practice in North Carolina, South Carolina and Maryland. His practice focuses primarily on the representation of Homeowner and Condominium Associations and related corporate and real estate matters. He has substantial experience in the formation and application of planned communities and regularly advises his clients regarding document interpretation and application, drafting and recording of governing documents, conducting annual and special member meetings, and all issues related to collection of assessments and operation of a planned community. Chris also advises clients on issues related to contract interpretation, corporate documents and homeowner violation issues. Chris is former prosecutor and criminal defense attorney and uses his litigation experience to assist clients to provide practical resolutions when conflicts arise and also provides zealous court representation. As a litigator, Chris has appeared in court in over fifty counties across North and South Carolina and Maryland.

Chris is a member of the Community Associations Institute and has been a presenter at North Carolina CAI Law Day and at the NC CAI Annual Conference. He has been published in Common Ground Magazine in the "Ask the Experts" section and has appeared on WSOC-TV as a legal expert in HOA matters. Chris also regularly provides educational presentations for association directors and management companies on topics of interest and board functionality.

When not practicing law, Chris is active with his family and church. He enjoys golf, history, wine tasting and spending time with his family. Chris was born and raised in Hagerstown Maryland and is a graduate of North Hagerstown High School, Towson State University, and Regent University Law.
